Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week has arrived!! I hope you are dressed for one of our fun, spirit day themes as you read this! While we get to dress up in fun themes all week, let's not forget the importance of why we have Red Ribbon Week and why it is so important. Watch this video clip for a little bit of its history.

It's important that we start learning about this at a young age, so we know what to do if we are ever faced with being pressured by our peers. If we practice saying "NO!" to drugs and alcohol now, the easier it will be for us to do it in the future.

Sometimes drugs can even look like candy, and we have to be very careful about what we accept from others. Never take something from a stranger, especially if it is something they are wanting you to eat. Try playing this game to see if you can tell which one is a pill/something you shouldn't eat, or candy. It can be pretty tricky as you get to the higher levels in the game.

How did you do? Did you get them all right? Some of them are tricky, aren't they?! Since we are talking about candy now, Halloween is coming up this week! Make sure you are careful and check all of your candy for any open pieces, if you go trick-or-treating. Toss out any that are open, unwrapped, or look odd. Here's a fun Halloween-themed video for you to answer some questions and dance! The video will ask you a question and give you a little time to respond. Then, it'll play some music and you can get up and dance! Have fun!

We hope you have a safe and super fun Halloween!! We look forward to seeing you all dressed up each day for Red Ribbon Week! Remember to "Just Say NO to Drugs!!" :-)
